For this session I asked Arno van Nieuwenhuize on drums.
He has been the regular drummer of the Metropole Orchestra for 30 years.
We share a shared passion for world music with the special sounds of instruments, voices and rhythms.
For this piece I started from my African time, set up the percussion and set out the melody lines with the balafon one of my
favorite instruments.
Tico Pierhagen then played a beautiful piano part, added bass and forwarded this to Arno who supplied surprisingly beautiful drums in his own studio.

I thinned out the percussion parts because otherwise it would get in the way of the drums too much.
I have used the African shakers, triangle and Balafon which blend beautifully into the whole.
As a finishing touch, Leo Janssen has played another beautiful sax part.
So there is something beautiful inside, the piece is full of energy!
